Millcreek Man Helps Compile Weather Stats For National Weather Service

Ron Prindle, 58, helps the National Weather Service gather data to determine how much snow or rain has fallen in the Erie region. Prindle was photographed Feb. 20 with measuring instruments in the back yard of his Millcreek Township near the Erie International Airport. His readings are compiled as part of the official NWS rain and snow totals for the airport, and are then reported by most local media outlets. Prindle and his wife have been helping the National Weather Service in this capacity since 2005. "The data has to be collected by someone, and I'd like to be the person to validate it and keep it consistent," he said.
